Have you ever wished you could totally start over with your house and buy all new furniture and accessories? How fun would that be, right? Well, it’s not exactly practical or economical, but I like to dream anyway! So I’ve decided to start playing a new little game. There’s only one rule…Source everything from one store or website. Money is no object, and since this is for an imaginary new house, I’m only guessing what I would need. I had WAY more fun with this than I probably should have, but I’m a little strange like that. It was so fun for me to look without feeling constricted by price. I’m not really going to buy any of this. Most of it comes with a rather large price tag, but who said we can’t have a little fun with it anyway? The first Website on my list to source from was One King’s Lane. It’s a website with spectacular furniture in all sorts of styles. Here’s what I came up with… If this house had a theme “Navy Blue” would be it. I’m pretty in love with it and wish I could really have all of it for my very own!
LIVING ROOM

I’m OBSESSED with this couch. Isn’t it beautiful?! In this pretend scenario, I’m also pretending that I don’t have a white dog that sheds terribly. I could never pull off a dark navy couch, but I love it so much. In my dream world it’s mine! I’m not a matchy matchy person, so I chose two different chairs that I felt like worked really well together. How comfortable does that leather chair look? I love this rug since it has a bit of a Southwest feel, and that’s my thing. The coffee table is wire structure covered with rope. I love the added texture. I prefer a round coffee table, because everything else in the room is very square. Lastly, I chose a dresser as a TV stand. I love the warm color of the wood. Imagine this room with a huge black and white mountain scene hanging behind the couch. I would love that! I’m oh so in love with this living room! If only I could be in love with the price tag!
Couch $5,599
Rug $665
Arm Chair $729
Leather Chair $2,499
Dresser/TV Stand $2,279
Coffee Table $349

Dining Room

The main feature of the dining room would be this B-E-A-utiful slab table! I truly adore the look of a HUGE slab table, but I’ve never been able to consider having one because of the HUUUUUGE price tag that always goes with it. This is dream land, though. There is no money in dream land, so slab table it is! I never want all my dining room chairs to match. It’s just not my thing. I would have two of the navy blue upholstered chairs at both ends of the table and the rope dining room chairs to fill in the middle. I love the different styles combined together. Mix matching chairs and chair styles isn’t everyone’s thing, but I have a pretty massive obsession with mixing styles. It’s one of my favorite things to do. I love the look of traditional rugs. I always have loved them, but they can be pretty expensive. Therefore, I’ve never actually owned one. I own one in this fantasy, though! I wasn’t thrilled with One King’s Lane lighting options, but that’s part of the deal. I had to choose one. I went with this black chandelier. It maybe wouldn’t be my first choice, but given the options, I think this one works.
Slab Table $4,549
Rope Chair $599 X 4
Navy Chair $949 x 2
Rug $1,849
Pendant Light $399

Bedroom

I really want to wake up to this bedroom every single day!!! My absolute favorite part of the room is the rug. I love the traditional rug that’s made to look worn out. I love the color. I love the style. I love love love that rug! A close second to the rug is the bed. Occasionally, I’m drawn to this type of bed instead of a super clean and modern bed. I like the idea of a padded and upholstered bed, because bedrooms are supposed to be about comfort, right? I love the color of the bed with the rug. I’d even do white bedding just like that. At the end of the bed, I like to have a bench like this one. It makes a nice place to put on shoes. I chose this industrial style and masculine dresser to offset the feminine bed. I then just added a couple of bedside tables with industrial wall sconces for reading light. I like a round piece of art or mirror above beds, so I chose this sunburst mirror. Last, but definitely not least is a bright pop of color with a coral pillow. The bedroom might be my favorite room in my fake house!
Bed $899
Mirror $219
Side Table $299 X 2
Rug $5,419
Wall Sconce $59 X 2
Bench $949
Dresser $999
Pillow $39

Office

This is what I would do in an office. I wanted to go with a rug that was a little more contemporary. I’d just use a big dining table as a desk. I like the idea of having a desk that works more as a work table. I’m for sure in love with this leather bench. It’s just so pretty! I went with a simple white office chair, an industrial style book shelf and light, and then I brought in some navy blue with pillows that would hang out on the bench. I could certainly do some work in this office!
Table $1599
Rug $1,325
Bench $2,799
Office Chair $199
Pillow $69 X 2
Shelf $299
Lamp $1, 549

I really really really love all of this furniture. I love how every room has the same vibe and goes well together, but at a whooping total of $40,359.00, It’s all completely out of the question! So why would I do this to myself? Why would I look at and fall in love with things I can’t afford? Well…good question. Sometimes I like to look beyond my reach. Not to feel sorry for myself, but sometimes you can see what your ideal style really is. All these pieces are my ideal style. Sometimes, it’s hard to realize what your true style is when you are hindered by price. Doing this every once in a while can help you hone in on your style. Then, you can mimic that style within your price range. Also, I just really have a lot of fun doing this! I’m a dreamer, what can I say? I plan to do this same thing with several other stores and websites. I plan to do IKEA next so the price should look dramatically different.
