The nursery may still be on hold, but signs of baby are showing up other places!
I can’t explain to you how weird it is to open up our silverware drawer and find baby spoons! It will take some getting used to. I’ve finally sorted through all of the shower gifts we’ve received, taken inventory, and put what I could away. It’s really starting to make this all feel more real! Just 6 weeks left to go!
I’ve also been working on another baby project.
I knitted our baby girl a baby blanket! I have to say I’m pretty proud of this! As of a few weeks ago, I had never knitted anything in my life. It was definitely a trial and error project, but I’m happy with the results.
I used huge knitting needles and the chunkiest yarn I could find. It makes it a nice big knit and go comes together super fast.
The stripe down the middle came about when I ran out of the white yarn and couldn’t find anymore matching yarn. So, I just opted to do something else down the center. I really actually like it. I’m not a huge fan of overly sweet baby stuff, and I feel like the browns and beige helps keep the blanket from being too sweet.
Around the perimeter I crocheted pink yarn. I just looked up videos and did my best. It’s not perfect by any means, but it works. It’s super soft and warm, and I hope our little girl will enjoy it for years to come!
